Michael completed his Bachelor of Public Administration at York University and his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law. While attending Law School Michael was a member of the Varsity golf team for three years, competing in national and international tournaments that required drive and determination for success. Michael applies this same drive and determination to his legal practice focused in civil litigation and family law.
Michael recognizes that each claim and client is unique. Some claims are better suited for alternative dispute resolution, while other claims need to be aggressively pursued in court.
In civil litigation, Michael has experience handling builders’ lien matters, debt collection, contractual disputes, employment matters, and civil fraud, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. In family law, Michael’s practice focuses on resolving divorce matters amicably.
Michael also drafts and negotiates leases, and works with his colleagues at Shourie Bhatia LLP on a variety of litigation, family, corporate and business transactions, and residential real estate transactions.
Michael has appeared at the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench.
In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf, soccer, and basketball. Michael is also an avid Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Raptors fan.
